It occurs to me, that Gradius games don't usually show you ENTERING the giant monsters you destroy from the inside. (Lifeforce, most cell stages...)

Shoot the Core will rectify that problem.

Of course the problem is how to leave said creature, but I think that can be safely left to the player's imagination. XD The sprite is bigger than the game screen, leaving me a bit of artwork left over to throw in some rotation effects to give it a bit of "animation", (kinda like what Konami does for the bigger bosses)

You know I think I sometimes put too much effort into things that will be on screen for all of 2 seconds...

It just occurs to me. I've just made a Vore image.

... shit, I'm definately going to hell.

To this day, I still get people commenting on my Megaman X playthroughs, moaning that I suck because I don't use the boss weaknesses.

... what fucking planet are these people on? I make the games harder for myself... because I want a challenge... and I suddenly suck? Do I have to mention this every single time I enter a boss door? Do I have to stop for a minute and say "I'm finding the games too easy, and even though I don't remember this particular one very well, I'm still going in with just the basic weapons. I want a challenge."

Also : Despite having played each entry in a series that's already pretty damn simliar, am I not allowed to forget the odd death trap and item location? I mean, it's not like Megaman games are overly distinctive from each other.

This mostly seems to apply to the X series, people seem to forget that using weaknesses cuts boss difficulty down to nill.

I've no idea what possessed me to draw this. Sonic fans. Lawl. :D

So turned on the Gamecube for the first time in a long while... and... Ikaruga has a Freeplay mode? Bu-wah?
Granted, i've had this copy for a while, but when the hell did I unlock Free Play mode!? Well.. that takes all challenge of the game. Kinda loses it's point with infinite lives. :( I think I've found one of the few games that loses it's fun when it doesn't mercilessly kick you back to the start of the game when you lose all your lives. Ikaruga was about the challenge. They could've least given me an option to turn it off. Damnit Treasure! Where's the turn off option!

I'm a real masocist aren't I?

Still playing Megaman X8. Sigma just handed me my ass. Damnit Axl, why do you have to die in one hit to the move that has virtally no notification!

Damnit Capcom. Why did you give Sigma a near-instant kill move that has no notification - that's not how good game design works! What am I saying, X8 isn't a good game.

Here's the funny thing, through all my bitching about X8 - I make the very same mistakes when designing my own bosses/stages. But one difference between me and Capcom - I actually listen to playtesters and alter them occuringly. It's funny - you'd think i'd learn not to do this very mistake - but I have so far, for several bosses but you can never see the woods for the trees. Or something.

For those of you that have played Knights of the Triangle Table, feel sorry for the guy who playtests that game before I make changes - he gets to play the levels/bosses when they are borderline unfair. :D

Screw you Capcom. Screw you Burn Rooster. Screw you area made almost entirely out of spikes. Screw you bloody moving platforms that refuse to materalize where you need them. And screw you Dr Light for forcing me to play the stage as all three characters to get all the items.

And screw you Capcom for actually forcing me to come back to the stage to use an item you gain in the stage to get another item in the stage. Guah!

.... gotta love the latter half of the X series. You really do.

... I regret it already.

Oh god Burn Rooster's stage...

... and two bike stages.

Guah.

Oh hi.

I have actually been doing alot of sprite work (and.. artwork believe it or not)... but I haven't felt like posting any work for a while. XP

Damn.

Somethings just blown on my external harddrive..

I.. really.. really.. hope it was just the adapter.

You don't want to know how much of my work is on that thing... ;_;
My harddrive space issues i've gone on about in my youtube videos are in fact, bad enough for me to include my work on that thing... (or at least what-ever i'm not currently working on.)

I guess I'll find out when the replacement adapater arrives. Damnit this always happens as i'm about to do a CD backup.

As it stands, the only cartoon box sets I have brought were ones related to my game collection, the Megaman cartoons and Sonic cartoons, the former I had since the boxes were released as a Christmas present, (and, have watched... as painful as half the series is, I have watched the lot.), the latter were brought on impulse... and I haven't watched. I'd rather keep my fond memories of Satam and AoSTH, thanks.

In the process of coverting my room into the new study/games area, (i.e cleaning up, getting rid of furniture, etc) I found a dvd I wasn't even aware I'd brought. If I did buy it. No idea where it's from.

Specifically, it stars this guy:

Dogtanian!
For a laugh, I stuck it on, my memories of this being completely vague. I think it was one of many cartoons taped off TV by my parents, which is pretty much my only memory of it.

I, was impressed.

Granted, the theme music alone is enough to put you off, (irritating is an understatement.) but the actual cartoon itself?
It's a nice rendition of the The Three Musketeers novel, complete with drunk characters, deaths (huh!? The body count in the 5th episode is fairly high... and on screen. Bloodless, but on screen. And by cannon. Women and children. What.), religious themes...

Granted, this cartoon's older than I am, but I can't remember children's shows being like this... I couldn't see this cartoon being released now.

The DVD I found had the first five episodes...
So... i've brought the box set. I honestly want to know how the series continues. Granted I could just buy the book of D'Artagnan, but it's more fun with dogs killing each other with guns and swords.

... I hear pitchforks chattering and torches being lit. Is that normal?

Congrats, BRB Internacional, this is the second cartoon series I've become interested in this year. And the only one I've brought on impulse with the intention of watching.

The other one was Hokuto no Ken. And that doesn't have a complete Western box set released.. (I'll settle for the free ones online, thanks.)

Bit of a difference.

Also watched the
Running Man straight afterwards... it's cheesy, it's bloody, and it's Schwarzenegger. It deserved a good video game adaption, as the idea alone is gold.

Oh and hi.

I forgot how fucking hard this fucking thing fucking was.

Especially as Zero.

Fucking. Argh. Why does the body cause instant death!? Why is his weakness completely suicidal to use?! Why do I keep jumping into those sodding blocks every single time!? Why!? Seriously?!

Did the creators of X5 seriously HATE the player or something? I don't recall the game being this irritating and annoying... clearly my memory DOES fail me when it comes to Megaman games...

Also, did I mention?
Dr Light is an arsehole.
